The AWS can look back on a successful year for outdoor advertising. Out of Home Media performed above average in 2025 compared to other media – a trend that is likely to continue in 2026. The association is optimistic about the future of the medium: outdoor advertising enjoys a high level of acceptance among the population, reaches mobile and young target groups and, as the last true mass medium, has the most favourable CO? balance of all advertising media. It also offers an attractive price-performance ratio compared to other media.
Screen7 AG, a young DOOH start-up, is joining the Swiss Outdoor Advertising Association. The company supports the AWS's objectives of further developing the outdoor advertising market in its entirety. A total of ten outdoor advertising companies are members of the AWS, which is jointly committed to high-quality and efficient analogue and digital advertising solutions.
The association's activities in 2026 will focus in particular on combating bans and restrictions on outdoor advertising. Organisations and individuals can join the "Pro Plakat" group initiated by the AWS free of charge and use their voice to campaign for posters. The "Pro Plakat" internet platform plays a central role in this, serving as a reference for advertisers, agencies, politicians, the media and the public.
The AWS continues to pursue strong genre marketing. This includes the industry event "WOOHW!", which will take place in Zurich on 4 March 2027 under the joint sponsorship of the AWS, featuring a specialist conference and the presentation of the "Swiss Out of Home Awards". The AWS also contributes to the transnational trade magazine "OOH!". The free ePaper is published four times a year and provides information on developments in out-of-home media in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
